I have, for a long time, been slowly creating my own printable templates for certain comic book boards.

And I figured, having finished the three main important ones, I'd compile them into a set and share them. This set of three templates consists of:

(1) 11x17 inch blue-line full bleed comic page template
(2) 11x17 inch blue-line full bleed comic cover template
(3) 8.5x11 inch blue-line comic layout template

You'll need to print the comic page and comic cover files onto 11x17 inch plate finish bristol, or whatever boards you do your comics on. The layout sheet template can be printed on any white paper you want to do your page layout planning on.

The files in this kit will enable you to print all the stuff you need to create a comic. The measurements and printed margins are industry standard in their aspect ratio and the non-photo blue was compared to my pro boards and the colors were spot on most varieties.

Now, a caveat on colors... These boards print a perfect non-photo blue on MY PRINTER. Every printer differs a little in how it reads colors though, and you may need to adjust the file's colors slightly to suit your printer. When creating them, I used the accepted hexadecimal color code for perfect non-photo blue--A4DDED. Your printer's mileage with this may vary.

I hope this is helpful. Please don't post these files to share anywhere else. Though please feel free to link back to here. And Enjoy! Comic creation is a joy, and I hope these help people more easily and affordably create. And if you have any questions about using these templates, just ask!

FYI, I use a wide format Epson printer to create the 11x17 boards. This kind of printer has a full bleed function (which means it prints to the edge of the board without that inconvenient border) I just load the 11x17 bristol stock in and go. If it turns out that your wide format printer does NOT print to the edge, then you may need to open the files in an editor (such as photoshop) and trim the outer negative space just a bit. Then they'll print just perfect, even on a wide format printer that doesn't have full bleed capability.

:iconpapcryplz: Thanks for the templates! ... but what if the printer one has doesn't print 11x17...?
(I'm not a pro or anything so it should be alright to shrink it to a 8.5x11in paper xD?)

I'm sure you can print this on 8.5x11 paper, but if you're going to do that, just open up photoshop and create a new file that is 6.8x10.5 inches and make a nonphoto blue border on the file, then print. It's what this one reduces to for letter size paper and you wouldn't have to fuss with the shrunken bleed and trim margins that are no longer in scale.

If you want it on stock that is 11x17, but lack a printer that can do it...what you CAN do is put the file on a disk, then get some 2 ply 11x17 bristol (plate finish is my favorite) and then go to the local printer and have them print the templates onto the bristol for you.
